About the Artist
b. 1985, Dallas, Texas. Ozaeta graduated in 2007 with a BA from the University of Texas at Dallas. That same year he received an award from the Dallas Museum of Art’s Degoyler Fund, which recognizes the talent and potential of young visual artists. Ozaeta was featured in the 2008 west edition of New American Paintings. Ozaeta will also be featured in the debut issue of The Standard which after much anticipation will debut in the summer of 2010. Brent Ozaeta lives and works in Dallas, and is represented by The Public Trust.
About the Exhibition
Since Ozaeta’s 2008 debut Super Market, his work has progressed to a new level of abstraction, further pushing the conversation surrounding the media’s presence and effect on our lives. The paintings have become more ambitious in scale and complexity, offering a closer vantage point to the digital array of imagery that informs the work.

This month’s Top Notch parties are looking crazy! Next week we will have Austin’s own Nick Nack holding down the guest spot at Boondocks. This will be a guaranteed blast! Check back for an interview with Nick as well as a link to some of his music.
The last Friday of April will be the Dallas edition at Zubar. This is a special Birthday bash for Tony Schwa. The Homies A1, Schwa and Genova will be rocking the front room and super Dj Tyrone Smiley will be keeping the back room jumping all night. If you live in D-town, show face! I will be announcing details soon on the Top Notch 1 year anniversary in Houston next month. I have some suprises/goodies in store!

Above are the flyers for a couple of after parties I am doing this month. Tomorrow night I will be handling the tunes as soon as the Vampire Weekend show lets out at House Of Blues here in Dallas. The after party will take place in the Foundation Room located upstairs.
On the 3oth I will be at House Of Blues once again, only this time around it will be Houston. The Homies Dayta and El Roy Boogie will be joining me to turn the party out. This will be THE after party for the sold out Phoenix show. It’s going down!

Week after next Johnny Cupcakes will be stopping through D-Town on his Suitcase tour. My friends over at We Are 1976 are hosting the event and I will be providing the tunes. It kicks off at 8pm. Get there early, it’s gawn be packed!
Now that I am back in town, the calendar is filling up. I just locked down a event for TOMS today as well as a couple of really rad after parties. Keep checking back!

The flicks are up from Top Notch HTX. You can check out how it goes down every last Saturday at Boondocks right here. Huge thanks to Matthew for always coming through and capturing the madness. We have some Big things planned for the summer. Ride with us!
